Lose the Smoker In You Campaign Celebration, Friday 5th February, 10.30am – 11.15am, The Good Neighbours Pub, Aikman Avenue, Leicester.
This is a fantastic campaign, and new Parks was really lucky to be chosen to pilot it.
I have been involved with the campaign since it first started, along with other locals, and the manager of the Good Neighbours Pub has been fantastic, by quitting himself, and allowing a clinic to take place at the pub once a week, which i understand is still ongoing.
I have attempted to quit smoking myself, aswell as encouraging others to do the same, and even though i did’nt succeed this time, i will be trying again.
The Leicester STOP smoking team have been great, and are not there to nag at you or look down at you because you smoke, but more importantly to support your quest to quit.
Thanks to pfizer the Lose the smoker in you campaign, the gym received £2,300 funding, which is going to be spent on providing first aid course for local youngsters.
local quitters had to vote via tokens for either our project, The Allexton youth & community centre or the “Let’s Talk” project, and the gym received the most votes.
For more information about quitting, smokers can visit: www.losethesmokerinyou.co.uk or call NHS Leicester City STOP! smoking service on 0116 295 4141.
Liz has a very passionate and energetic attitude, which is just what the constituents of Leicester West need.
Our members really enjoyed Liz visiting the gym, and thought it was great that she joined in the session.
We look forward very much to working alongside her, if she is successfully voted in as the next Leicester West labour MP.

This was a fantastic opportunity to be invited to Number 10, and i really enjoyed looking around.
I enjoyed speaking to the Government Ministers, and it was a pleasure that they had genuine regard for what people like myself and Stuart do for their communities.
I also met Levi Roots, who had also been invited as a guest speaker, with regards to his success of the Reggae reggae Sauce on the TV’s Dragon’s Den programme.
